Position Summary

This position is responsible for building and managing a portfolio of major gifts and planned giving prospects to advance the mission of LifeTouch Health Foundation. This position develops meaningful relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations to secure philanthropic support for the Foundation's programs and services. The Major Gifts Officer plays a critical role in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors while expanding the organization's culture of philanthropy through strategic engagement and relationship management.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required

Experience: Minimum of three years of professional fundraising experience with demonstrated success in securing philanthropic support preferred.

Additional requirements: Experience managing major gift portfolios and cultivating gifts of $10,000 or more preferred. Experience with planned giving, annual leadership giving, grant writing, or fundraising is strongly preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Partner with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Foundation leadership to develop and execute coordinated strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major and planned gift donors.
Build, manage, and grow a portfolio of approximately 125–150 qualified major gift and planned giving prospects, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Develop and implement strategies to secure major gifts of $10,000 or more and cultivate planned giving opportunities.
Conduct a minimum of 10 meaningful donor or prospect visits each month through in-person or virtual meetings.
Establish and maintain long-term donor relationships through personalized communication, regular outreach, and thoughtful stewardship.
Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects using proven moves management principles to successfully advance donors through the philanthropic pipeline.
Maintain a consistent schedule of donor engagement activities to strengthen relationships and maximize giving potential.
Collaborate with Foundation leadership to identify grant opportunities and manage the grant development process, including proposal writing, data collection, application submission, and reporting requirements.
Lead the growth of the Foundation's planned giving program by educating donors on charitable estate planning opportunities, including bequests and other planned gifts, while encouraging membership in the Foundation's planned giving society.
Plan, coordinate, and participate in donor cultivation, recognition, and stewardship events, including planned giving society events, donor appreciation activities, and targeted engagement opportunities.
Build strong partnerships with internal departments and external community stakeholders to expand philanthropic outreach and increase community engagement.
Monitor portfolio performance and fundraising outcomes by maintaining accurate donor records, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and preparing regular activity and revenue reports.
Develop compelling donor communications, grant proposals, stewardship materials, newsletter articles, and other fundraising content that supports Foundation initiatives.
Maintain confidentiality while representing the Foundation with professionalism, integrity, and a strong commitment to donor-centered fundraising.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of the Foundation's mission and fundraising goals.
Proven ability to develop meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers, community leaders, and organizational stakeholders.
Demonstrated success implementing donor cultivation strategies and moves management techniques.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience developing donor-facing materials and grant proposals.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Experience utilizing donor databases or CRM systems to track donor activity and fundraising performance. Blackbaud Raisor’s Edge NXT experience is a plus.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues, volunteers, and community partners.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong understanding of major gift fundraising principles, donor stewardship, and relationship management.
Working knowledge of planned giving concepts and charitable estate planning vehicles.
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret fundraising metrics and measure performance.
Excellent project management and time management abilities.
Commitment to providing exceptional donor service and advancing the mission of LifeTouch Health Foundation.

Performs the above listed functions while regularly working with confidential and/or proprietary Arkansas Hospice and patient information, including but not limited to patient medical records, current or former employee information, Arkansas Hospice records, and other information that the employee regularly uses to perform job functions.
