Job Summary
Gile Carpentry LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Carpenter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craft, leads by example, and can manage projects from framing to finish with a focus on quality, organization, and teamwork.
This role involves leading small crews, coordinating materials and schedules, and ensuring that every project reflects the level of workmanship our clients expect. Projects include custom remodels, new home builds, additions, decks, kitchens, bathrooms, and detailed tile work — offering the opportunity to apply a wide range of skills and creativity on-site.
Duties
- Lead and work alongside team members to ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specs to plan and execute all phases of work.
- Perform and oversee tasks such as framing, trim, drywall installation, painting, roofing, siding, decking, window/door installation, flooring, tile laying, and finish work.
- Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and manage inventory for various projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite that reflects pride in craftsmanship.
- Provide mentorship and training to crew members to help build skills and promote a positive, team-focused environment.
- Troubleshoot issues on-site with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Communicate progress with clients or project managers regularly to ensure expectations are aligned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or foreman position is perferred.
- Strong understanding of both rough and finish carpentry, job layout and sequencing.
- Extensive knowledge of carpentry including finish carpentry, framing, drywall finishing, fixture installation, new custom builds and remodeling.
- Experience and working knowledge of related trades (drywall, painting, tile, siding, roofing, flooring, light electrical, plumbing) a bonus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate effectively with the team and subs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in demanding environments.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate teams effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Certification or training in OSHA standards or relevant industry certifications is a plus. This position requires a dedicated professional committed to quality craftsmanship and safety standards in the restoration industry or general construction projects. Candidates should demonstrate versatility across multiple trades and possess a proactive approach to problem-solving on-site.
