Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAD Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise and detailed computer-aided design (CAD) models and drawings that support the development, construction, and manufacturing of complex mechanical systems. Your expertise in 3D modeling, drafting, and system design will be crucial in translating conceptual ideas into accurate technical representations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects across various engineering disciplines while utilizing cutting-edge CAD tools and software.

Duties

Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and Pro/ENGINEER.
Collaborate with design engineers and project teams to interpret technical specifications and translate them into comprehensive CAD models adhering to industry standards like ASME codes & standards.
Create piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, and system layouts for mechanical systems and process flows.
Perform mechanical drafting tasks including assembly drawings, system schematics, and technical documentation to support manufacturing and construction activities.
Conduct 3D modeling for product design, incorporating features such as GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure precision and manufacturability.
Utilize simulation tools such as FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for structural analysis and perform design validation to optimize mechanical performance.
Assist in technical writing for project documentation, reports, and manuals; support construction teams with detailed drawings and system designs.
Apply construction experience to ensure CAD models meet site requirements; review designs for compliance with safety standards and project specifications.

Skills

Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, Pro/ENGINEER; experience with Bluebeam and NavisWorks is a plus.
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including the design of mechanical systems and piping layouts.
Expertise in 3D modeling for product development and system integration; familiarity with 2D animation is advantageous.
Experience working with ASME codes & standards to ensure designs meet regulatory requirements.
Skilled in creating detailed schematics, P&IDs, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
Knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for structural assessment; ability to interpret analysis results for design improvements.
Mechanical drafting experience combined with a solid understanding of GD&T practices for precise manufacturing tolerances.
Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams; excellent technical writing skills are essential.
Construction experience preferred; familiarity with system design processes enhances project accuracy.
