Full Job Description

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)Position Summary

Kidz With Abilities is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. The RBT works under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve communication, social interaction, adaptive living skills, emotional regulation, and reduce challenging behaviors. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and passionate about helping children reach their fullest potential.

Essential ResponsibilitiesDirect Client Care

Provide one-on-one ABA therapy sessions in the clinic, home, school, or community settings as assigned.
Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising BCBA.
Teach communication, social, play, self-help, academic readiness, and daily living skills.
Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) using evidence-based ABA techniques.
Utilize positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies to promote skill acquisition.
Support clients in achieving individualized treatment goals while promoting independence.
Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment.

Data Collection

Collect accurate and objective data during every therapy session.
Record client progress using electronic data collection systems and clinical documentation software.
Monitor client behaviors and treatment effectiveness.
Report significant behavioral changes or concerns to the supervising BCBA promptly.
Ensure documentation is completed accurately and submitted within required timelines.

Collaboration

Work closely with the supervising BCBA to ensure treatment fidelity.
Participate in supervision sessions and clinical trainings.
Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, teachers, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
Communicate professionally with families regarding session activities while maintaining treatment boundaries.
Participate in team meetings and case discussions.

Professional Responsibilities

Maintain RBT certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Complete ongoing competency assessments and required supervision hours.
Follow all BACB Ethics Code requirements.
Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities.

Client Engagement

Build positive therapeutic relationships with children and families.
Encourage communication, independence, and positive social interactions.
Assist with transitions between activities.
Help maintain client motivation using individualized reinforcement systems.
Model appropriate behaviors and social interactions.

Safety Responsibilities

Maintain a safe therapeutic environment at all times.
Implement crisis intervention strategies as trained and approved by the BCBA.
Follow clinic emergency procedures and incident reporting protocols.
Report injuries, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
Assist with maintaining therapy materials and ensuring treatment rooms remain clean and organized.

QualificationsRequired

Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing with the BACB.
High school diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).
Experience working with children, preferably children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or developmental disabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow treatment plans and accept clinical feedback.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred

Experience in pediatric ABA therapy.
CPR and First Aid Certification.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) or ABA data collection software.
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements

Ability to actively engage with children throughout therapy sessions.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, and move frequently during treatment.
Ability to lift and assist children weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary.
Ability to run short distances, respond quickly during behavioral situations, and participate in active play.
Ability to safely implement approved behavior management procedures when necessary.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
