Director of Operations Summary
Chetu is seeking a full-time, experienced Director of Operations (DO) to lead and grow a defined book of business. This leadership role sits at the intersection of client retention, client expansion, and new logo acquisition. The DO manages a team of Project Managers responsible for client delivery and collaborates closely with Sales, Marketing, and Strategy teams to drive portfolio growth within targeted industry verticals.
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with a business analyst foundation and a sharp commercial mindset. This individual excels at understanding client business needs, shaping solutions with technical teams, building trust-based client relationships, and driving measurable growth across their portfolio. The DO is a proactive operator who thrives in a KPI-driven environment and is comfortable representing Chetu externally through client meetings, conferences, webinars, and industry events.
Compensation Structure
Package: $160,000
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Portfolio Management
- Own the assigned book of business end-to-end, including revenue, headcount, retention, and account health
- Meet established KPIs, OKRs, and benchmarks including billable hours, utilization, and growth targets
- Define and execute account-level growth plans across the portfolio
- Achieve quarterly and annual revenue expansion and retention goals
- Plan, forecast, and execute strategies to drive new logo acquisition in partnership with Sales and Marketing
Client Relationship Management & Delivery Oversight
- Manage, mentor, and motivate direct and indirect reports; set clear performance expectations and goals
- Lead communication and cultural alignment across teams of Project Managers
- Coordinate with offshore India delivery centers to ensure consistent quality and effective US–India handoffs
- Drive client retention through executive business reviews and ensure PMs run consistent operational reviews
- Support HR with talent management, recruiting, performance evaluation, retention initiatives, and upskilling
Cross-Functional Growth Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Strategy teams to guide portfolio direction and drive growth
- Identify and close expansion opportunities within existing customers
- Build strong relationships with key client stakeholders
- Support new customer acquisition through pre-sales activities including trade shows, discovery calls, tech calls, and proposal preparation
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and explore new markets, partnerships, and marketing channels
- Become an SME for assigned strategies and help position Chetu as an industry leader
- Travel as required for client visits, conferences, trade shows, and webinars/panels
Performance Tracking & Optimization
- Track performance across the portfolio including revenue, utilization, retention, and growth metrics
- Analyze account health and operational effectiveness; translate insights into actionable improvements
- Present performance reports and strategic recommendations to leadership
Requirements
Experience
- 15+ years of progressive experience in IT services, digital transformation, custom software, or consulting
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role with book-of-business ownership
- Proven track record of managing and growing a portfolio with measurable revenue and retention results
- Strong management skills with experience leading direct and indirect reports
- Executive-level client-facing experience with demonstrated improvements in satisfaction and retention
- Experience working with offshore India delivery teams across time zones

Education & Travel
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Background in business, engineering, computer science, or related field welcome
- Willingness to travel for clients, conferences, trade shows, and Chetu offices (including India)
