Full Job Description

About the Role

This is a production support role on a high-performing, self-generated mortgage team. The Loan Partner owns the pre-approval process from initial client intake through contract execution, including gathering documentation, analyzing borrower qualifications, structuring loan scenarios, issuing pre-approval letters, and preparing complete loan files for submission.

Success in this role means delivering accurate, well-structured loan files while providing an exceptional client experience and keeping transactions moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive client intake interviews to gather all information required for mortgage qualification.
Analyze borrower income, assets, employment, credit, and liabilities to determine loan eligibility.
Review financial documentation for accuracy and identify missing or inconsistent information.
Structure loan scenarios and prepare recommendations for Loan Officer review.
Identify potential qualification issues early and recommend solutions.
Prepare complete loan files and issue accurate pre-approval letters.
Request, organize, and verify all documentation needed to support loan eligibility.
Communicate proactively with borrowers to obtain documentation and provide updates throughout the pre-approval process.
Monitor loan pipelines to ensure contract dates and deadlines are met.
Maintain accurate loan records and notes within Encompass and CRM systems.
Ensure all files meet agency, investor, and company guidelines.
Deliver an exceptional client experience through responsive communication and attention to detail.
Assist with client appreciation initiatives, closing gifts, thank-you gifts, and other client experience projects.
Cross-train with the Processor to assist with overflow, provide backup support, and help maintain an efficient loan pipeline.

Qualifications

Active NMLS license required.
Minimum two years of mortgage industry experience preferred.
Experience with Encompass LOS preferred.
Strong knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, and Non-QM loan products.
Strong understanding of mortgage guidelines and loan structuring.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple files in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
