Full Job Description

Job Summary

Looking to add a technician/assistant to our team at MVC. We are a 1 doctor practice and you will be assisting in a wide range of medical procedures, animal handling, and client communication. You will play a key role in ensuring our patients receive compassionate, efficient, and top-quality care.

Duties

Assist veterinarian with medical procedures including anesthesia administration, dental/surgical procedures, and xray.
Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, including dog and cat handling, and some equine experience/handling.
Perform laboratory work such as blood draws, diagnostic testing, and laboratory procedures.
Operate medical equipment including X-ray machines, anesthesia monitors, and other diagnostic tools.
Maintain detailed records using veterinary software as well as paper records. Also keeping the clinic and exam rooms clean and free from disease.
Assist in emergency medicine scenarios by providing critical care support and monitoring animals under general anesthesia or during intensive care situations.
Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to foster trust and understanding.

Experience

Veterinary technician experience or related veterinary practice exposure is preferred but not required.
Experience with veterinary surgical assistance, medication administration, and medical equipment operation is advantageous.
Strong dog and cat handling skills along with pet grooming or training background will help you excel in animal restraint and care tasks.
