Title: Process Engineer

Reports to: Technology and Development Manager
This job description in no way implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the incumbent. At all times, employees will be required to follow any instructions and to perform any duties as seen necessary by the requesting supervisor or manager.
4.1 General Position Summary:
While working within office, laboratory, and production settings, this position is responsible for the timely completion of: Investigate production failures and institute corrective process actions. Support operations in the effective production of Isovolta products. Focus on ink, coating, color matching, mixing, and printing technologies and processes. Additional responsibilities for environmental reporting and future ESG projects. Supporting Product Engineering, Operations, Production, Maintenance, Sales, QA, and Material Review Board chemical process issues, and etcetera.
4.2 Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Own and lead project management tasks for process improvements. Provide reliable short term and long-term forecasts.
- Formulate and develop solutions to meet production goals.
- Manage external relationships with key developmental partners within the supply chain, academic institutions and with customers.
- Report generation for quarterly goal meetings, Board meetings and Budget process.
- To look for process solutions to meet the strategic market plan.
- Work collaboratively with other group departments as well as with group engineering / technology leaders.
- To provide on time in full visit reports
- Learn and understand the dept / company function, organization, documentation, procedures, resources, facilities, and equipment.
- Keep up to date with the latest news/trends in the industry by utilizing the networking possibilities from these.
- Experience in MS Suite (Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Teams; Dynamics; Project).
- Willingness to travel when required.
4.3 Secondary Functions:
- Maintain orderliness and cleanliness throughout the operation for contamination control and housekeeping.
- Assist in other areas as required.
- Inspect and maintain equipment in the area.
- Maintain open lines of communication between company personnel with the intent to be proactive in addressing issues before they become problems.
4.4 Job Scope:
Performs duties with minimal supervision, operate from specific and definite directions and instructions. Decisions are of a routine nature made within prescribed operating guidelines, policies, and procedures. Mistakes/errors may result in work stoppage, loss of business, poor customer relations, and/or damage to product, all of which can have negative financial implications for the organization.
4.5 Interpersonal Contacts:
Have primarily internal contacts, and occasional external contacts. The most common internal contacts are with the R&D Product Development, Technology, Operations, Sales, Engineering.
May also have contact with outside customers, Supply chain and Developmental Partners.
4.6 Specific Job Skills:
- Good interpersonal communication, customer service, and time management skills essential.
- Results driven, proactive, a rigorous and good decision maker.
- Able to build strong relationships at development partners with technical people at all levels.
- A passion for providing a very high level of service and support.
- Ability to co-ordinate & be part of Isovolta teams of commercial, operational, and technical people to deliver results at the customer.
- Mathematically and technically literate.
- Business English (written and verbal) - essential.
4.7 Education and/or Experience:
- Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Process
- Engineering, etcetera
- Chemical Engineering
- Environmental Engineering (desirable).
- Previous chemical engineering experience, preferably with inks, resins and adhesives.
- Supervisory experience (desirable)
- Technical/Engineering background (desirable)
- Ability to become a departmental manager.
- University level or equivalent education in a technical field such as Chemical Engineering.4.8 Working Conditions:
Work areas include an office, laboratory, and a production facility. Work includes light equipment operation, working in moderate temperature conditions, occasional interruptions and priority changing. The incumbent may be required to work in an environment where there are fumes, building temperature fluctuations, noise, chemicals, dirt, and dust.
