About Paladin
Paladin is the leading pro bono management platform and next generation experiential learning tool, helping law firms, legal departments, law schools, and legal services organizations make pro bono work easier to source, take on, manage, and measure.
Our technology is used by leading legal organizations to connect professionals with meaningful pro bono opportunities, streamline program administration, and report on impact. As Paladin enters its next stage of growth, we are seeking an entrepreneurial, commercially driven executive to help scale the company and expand our reach.
The Opportunity
Paladin is hiring a VP of Sales to own the company’s revenue strategy and lead our next phase of growth. We envision this person growing into a future C-Suite role.
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage from a distance. The VP of Sales will define Paladin’s new business growth strategy, build a repeatable revenue engine, and personally own the full enterprise sales cycle from prospecting and pipeline development to product demonstrations, negotiations, and closing new business. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both building strategy and executing on it.
The immediate mandate is clear: grow Paladin’s market presence while strengthening the systems, team, and customer base required for the company’s next strategic chapter. He or she will develop a deep understanding of the business, earn the trust of the team, customers, and Board, and demonstrate an ability to lead across functions, not solely focused on building revenue. The longer team mandate is to evolve into a future C-Suite role that will take the company into a new growth chapter.
What You’ll Own
Revenue Growth
- Own Paladin’s new business revenue target and develop the strategy required to double annual recurring revenue through new business growth.
- Personally lead high-value sales opportunities from initial outreach through discovery, demonstration, negotiation, and close.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior decision-makers at law firms, corporate legal departments, law schools, and other legal organizations.
- Identify and execute opportunities to enter new customer segments, build strategic partnerships, and develop relationships with prospective enterprise customers.
Go-to-Market Leadership
- Refine Paladin’s positioning, segmentation, pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy.
- Translate customer needs and market feedback into actionable priorities for product, marketing, client success, and company leadership.
- Partner closely with the Chief Experience Officer and Client Success team to ensure seamless transition from sales through onboarding, while collaborating on expansion opportunities that involve new business units within clients’ organizations.
- Represent Paladin externally with customers, partners, industry leaders, and other strategic stakeholders.
Executive and Company Leadership
- Serve as a core member of Paladin’s executive team and a close partner to the CEO and Board.
- Contribute to company strategy, annual planning, budgeting, hiring, product priorities, and organizational development.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Paladin’s operations, customers, culture, financial model, and market.
- Demonstrate the judgment, versatility, and leadership capability required to potentially assume broader responsibility for the company over time.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 12 to 24 months, the VP of Sales will have:
- Established and executed a credible plan to double Paladin’s annual recurring revenue.
- Built a healthy, predictable pipeline across Paladin’s core and emerging customer segments.
- Personally closed meaningful new business and strategic expansion opportunities.
- Improved the rigor and reliability of forecasting, pipeline management, pricing, and revenue reporting.
- Developed strong relationships with Paladin’s team, customers, partners, and Board.
- Demonstrated the ability to lead beyond the commercial function and potentially step into a broader leadership role.
Who You Are
You are an entrepreneurial growth executive who combines strategic thinking with a willingness to do the work yourself. You know how to build, but you do not need a large team, established brand, or extensive infrastructure to be effective.
You are energized by ambitious targets and take personal ownership of results. You are credible with senior executives, skilled at navigating complex and consultative sales processes, and comfortable operating in a mission-driven, founder-led growth company.
You are also interested in building enterprise value; not simply hitting a quarterly number. You understand how sustainable revenue growth, customer concentration, retention, market positioning, operational discipline, and team quality contribute to a company’s long-term strategic options.
Qualifications
- Significant experience owning revenue growth in a B2B legal technology software business, with experience selling to law firms, corporate legal departments, law schools, or other legal-sector institutions.
- A demonstrated record of materially increasing recurring revenue, ideally within a company at a comparable stage of growth (Series A).
- Experience personally sourcing, advancing, and closing complex sales with senior decision-makers.
- Strong command of enterprise sales strategy, pipeline development, forecasting, pricing, negotiation leading enterprise sales across new customers and new stakeholder groups within existing customers.
- Experience building or improving a go-to-market function in an entrepreneurial or resource-constrained environment.
- Ability to move fluidly between executive strategy and hands-on execution.
- Strong financial and commercial judgment, including an understanding of the drivers of enterprise value.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
- High integrity, low ego, sound judgment, and a strong sense of accountability.
- Genuine alignment with Paladin’s mission to increase access to justice.
Particularly Valuable Experience
The strongest candidates may also bring:
- Familiarity with legal technology, professional services, or other relationship-driven markets.
- Experience helping prepare a growth-stage company for long term strategic partnerships.
- Prior responsibility for functions beyond sales, such as marketing, client success, partnerships, product strategy, finance, or operations.
- Experience working closely with a founder, Board of Directors, or investors.
- Previous experience as a general manager, president, chief revenue officer, chief growth officer, or CEO.
Why Paladin
This is a rare opportunity to help lead a category-defining company at an important inflection point. You will have a direct role in scaling a meaningful business, shaping its strategic future, and expanding the impact of pro bono legal services.
The successful candidate will join a mission-driven, collaborative team and have substantial influence over Paladin’s growth, operations, and long-term direction.
