Full Job Description

The Corvallis Club is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Clerk / Office Assistant to help keep our operations running like clockwork. In this role, you’ll be a key part of both our financial processes and our departmental employment support, helping to ensure accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in everything we do. Your work will directly contribute to our smooth daily operations—and to the exceptional experience we deliver to our members and team. This is not a CPA or manager level position.

DUTIES MAY INCLUDED BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

Process payroll bi-monthly
Perform daily Point of Sale close and work closely with staff to resolve issues with discrepancies
Prepare daily close journal entry
Daily entry and reconciliation of restaurant tip out spreadsheet
Enter accounts payable transactions accurately and timely
Reconcile credit card statements and ensure back-up documentation obtained from card holders
Assist with month-end close as needed
Assist with member billing questions, post customer payments, and collection process
Perform petty cash reconciliations and request reimbursement from Controller to replenish fund
Assist department heads with employment searches and employee onboarding
Monitor employee timesheets to ensure completion
Track benefit eligibility and assist with benefit onboarding
Create employee and business files. Track licenses and certifications to ensure renewal deadlines are met.
Perform other duties and projects as needed
Provide backup to the Controller and Office Manager in their absence

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

Quickly acquire a working knowledge of departmental policies and procedures
Learn new software
Plan, organize, prioritize and complete work in a calm, timely and efficient manner
Maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule.
Work alone and without close supervision
Take projects from beginning through completion with minimal supervision
Analyze situations carefully and adopt effective courses of action
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing to staff at all levels and members
Establish and maintain effective working relationships
Perform functions requiring independent judgment, decision making and problem solving
Maintain accurate accounting records, organized financial records and documentation
Maintain confidentiality of information
Successfully complete a background check

EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent job experience
2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; payroll experience required
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
