Intermediate / Senior Civil Structural Designer

Hycroft is looking for an Intermediate Civil Structural Designer who can work independently on multi-project deliverables and mentor junior staff while producing high-quality civil & structural design drawings.
About the Role
The ideal candidate should have experience supporting civil and structural design packages from early layout/sketch modeling through final CAD deliverables. This role will include preparing and updating 2D and 3D CAD models, developing site plans, grading plans, foundation layouts, structural steel/concrete drawings, and construction details based on engineer direction and project requirements.
The designer should be comfortable taking sketches, markups, field notes, and engineer comments and turning them into clean, coordinated drawings. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, grading surfaces, profiles, sections, and basic site layout would be highly valuable.
What You'll Do
- Independently produce structural steel and concrete drawings, foundation plans, civil site plans, and grading drawings on multiple concurrent projects
- Apply advanced AutoCAD, Revit Structure, or similar skills to complex design challenges
- Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines on integrated designs
- Mentor junior designers and review their work
- Contribute to development of CAD standards, templates, and procedures
- Support estimating and proposal efforts with drawing samples and quantities
- Conduct site visits to verify field conditions and gather as-built data
What You Bring
- Diploma or certificate in CAD design, drafting, civil engineering technology, or related technical program
- 4–10 years of civil and/or structural drafting/design experience
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit Structure, or similar
- Experience with, Navisworks, or other 3D modeling software is a plus
- Ability to prepare civil site plans, grading plans, foundation plans, structural steel drawings, concrete drawings, sections, and details
- Understanding of grading concepts, contours, spot elevations, slopes, drainage flow, and tie-ins to existing grades
- Ability to develop drawings from sketches, engineer markups, field measurements, and redlines
- Solid knowledge of structural steel, concrete, and civil works drawings
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables independently
- Authorized to work in Canada/USA

- Industrial sector background
- Experience with Revit, 3D modelling, or BIM workflows
- A.Sc.T. designation
