Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Cabinet Designer, Estimator & Project Coordinator role based in Crawford, GA.
The Cabinet Designer, Estimator & Project Coordinator will create detailed cabinet layouts, drawings, estimates, and specifications based on client needs, site measurements, project plans, and project requirements. This role includes design, estimating, and project coordination responsibilities for both residential and commercial cabinetry projects.
Responsibilities include meeting with clients or sales team members to understand design goals, reviewing plans and scopes of work, performing takeoffs, preparing accurate estimates, selecting materials and finishes, and creating shop drawings or CAD files for production.
The role also serves as a key point of coordination between cabinet shop production, installers, sales team members, and general contractors in the field. This includes communicating project details, clarifying scope, resolving design or field questions, tracking revisions, and making sure information flows accurately from estimating and design through production and installation.
The Cabinet Designer, Estimator & Project Coordinator will review and revise plans and estimates as needed, manage project documentation, help maintain consistent design and estimating practices, and support projects from initial concept through final installation.
Responsibilities
- Create accurate cabinet layouts, shop drawings, and CAD/design files
- Prepare estimates for residential and commercial cabinetry projects
- Review plans, specifications, measurements, and scopes of work
- Perform cabinet takeoffs and assist with pricing for labor, materials, hardware, countertops, and related scope items
- Take or review field measurements
- Meet with clients or sales team members to understand project goals and design intent
- Select materials, finishes, hardware, and design details
- Prepare drawings, specifications, and documentation for production
- Coordinate between cabinet shop production, installers, sales team members, and general contractors in the field
- Communicate project details, revisions, field conditions, installation requirements, and schedule needs clearly across teams
- Help resolve design, production, field, or estimating questions before they become larger issues
- Review and revise drawings, layouts, estimates, and project documents as needed
- Help identify scope gaps, missing information, or potential conflicts before production
- Maintain organized project files and documentation
- Help maintain consistent design, estimating, and coordination practices across projects
Qualifications
- Experience in cabinet design, millwork, interior design, kitchen and bath design, estimating, project coordination, or a closely related field
- Ability to translate client needs into functional, buildable cabinet layouts
- Experience estimating cabinetry, millwork, countertops, or construction-related scopes is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with cabinet design software, CAD, or similar drafting tools
- Comfort reading and creating technical drawings
- Ability to read plans, perform takeoffs, and understand project scopes
- Strong spatial awareness, measurement skills, and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of woodworking, construction methods, cabinet hardware, materials, and finishes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, sales, production, installation teams, and general contractors
- Ability to coordinate information between the shop and the field
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, hands-on setting
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety in a shop environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Additional training or education in design, drafting, estimating, construction, project coordination, or a related field is a plus
- Previous experience in custom cabinetry, commercial cabinetry, kitchen and bath design, or a closely related field is strongly preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
