The Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau

Court Appointed Special Advocate Program, Assistant Director Position Description

The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program Assistant Director (Assistant) assists the CASA Program Director by directly supervising assigned volunteers and case loads. This program is intended to provide an adult advocate for each Child in Need Of Services (CHINS) as assigned by the court. The Assistant reports directly to the CASA Program Director. This position is a non-exempt full-time salaried position.

Responsibilities:

· Supervise CASA volunteers assigned by the Program Director to complete the tasks required to represent the children involved in their various cases.

· Fulfill the duties of being a CASA for cases assigned directly to the Program Assistant Director.

· Attend court hearings involving children who have not yet been assigned a CASA or for CASA volunteers who are unavailable.

· Assist with recruiting, screening, training, and scheduling of the adult volunteers needed to effectively run the program.

· Assist the Program Director in maintaining a positive relationship with volunteers so that volunteer retention increases.

· Data management and entry across multiple systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Optima.

· Statistical reporting for state, national, and grant reports.

· Assist with program and agency promotion and development through agency and event webpages.

· As part of a team, assist with fundraising and/or community events.

· Other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Executive Director.

Qualifications:

Strong communications skills; both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to work with diverse populations.
Must be well organized to develop, implement, track the progress of, and help develop adult volunteers to maximize their advocacy.
At all times, must be able to keep information about the program and participants confidential.
High School Diploma required, College Degree in related field preferred.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
