Full Job Description

Job Title

Design Engineer

Job Roles and Responsibilities

Design and develop trailer components, including structural frames, axles, suspension systems, couplers, and braking systems.
Perform structural analysis using FEA to validate durability, load capacity, and overall product performance.
Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation using CAD software.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
Evaluate materials to improve product durability, performance, and weight optimization.
Support prototype development, product testing, validation, and field performance evaluations.
Investigate and resolve engineering issues related to fatigue, vibration, and load distribution.
Ensure product designs comply with applicable safety regulations, engineering standards, and customer requirements.
Coordinate with suppliers for component selection and technical support.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, cost reduction, and innovation.
Manage multiple engineering projects while maintaining schedules and deliverables.

Qualifications and Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
3-5 years of experience in trailer, automotive, heavy equipment, or a related manufacturing industry.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent 3D modeling tools.
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and engineering validation methods.
Strong knowledge of structural design, welding processes, fabrication techniques, and material selection.
Familiarity with braking systems, suspension design, and load dynamics.
Knowledge of applicable transportation and safety regulations.
Experience with prototype development, product testing, and design validation.
Understanding of hydraulic or pneumatic systems is preferred.
Experience managing engineering projects is an advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
