Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pediatric Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary liaison between patients, insurance providers, and our office staff to ensure smooth processing of dental insurance claims and accurate billing. Your expertise will help maximize insurance reimbursements, streamline administrative workflows, and enhance patient satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about pediatric dentistry and experienced in dental insurance processes to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced environment.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can serve as the go-to resource for both our team and our patient families.

Responsibilities

Verify and accurately enter dental insurance benefits for new and existing patients.
Explain insurance benefits, estimates, and coverage to parents and guardians in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner.
Submit, monitor, and follow up on insurance claims daily.
Investigate denied or delayed claims and work directly with insurance companies to obtain accurate claim processing and payment.
File appeals and advocate for patients when claims require additional review or reconsideration.
Maintain a thorough understanding of multiple PPO dental insurance plans, policies, and benefit structures.
Answer insurance-related questions from patients, parents, and team members.
Coordinate with our clinical and administrative teams to ensure accurate treatment estimates and insurance billing.
Identify and resolve insurance discrepancies while maintaining excellent documentation.
Stay current on changes in dental insurance policies, coding, and reimbursement guidelines.
Provide ongoing education and support to the team regarding changes in insurance policies, coding, and reimbursement guidelines to ensure consistent, accurate communication with patient families.

Skills

Proven experience independently handling dental insurance verification, claims, and appeals in a dental office setting required
Extensive knowledge of PPO dental insurance plans, claim submission, EOBs, coordination of benefits, and appeals.
Experience working with multiple insurance carriers and navigating complex insurance situations.
Strong understanding of dental coding (CDT) and insurance billing practices.
Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Outstanding communication skills with the ability to educate and reassure parents.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling medical records and insurance claims.
Ability to communicate effectively with insurance providers, patients, and team members to resolve billing issues promptly.
Knowledge of dental insurance policies specific to pediatric coverage and reimbursement processes.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
