Overview

Start your career in Pediatric Dentistry with Wild Smiles!

Wild Smiles. Dental Assistant Academy is looking for motivate, dependable individuals who are interested in building a rewarding career in pediatric dentistry. No prior dental experience is required-- we provide a structured, hands-on training program designed to help you become a skilled Dental Assistant.

As a Dental Assistant Trainee, you will receive comprehensive chairside training where you will learn the ins and outs of working in a pediatric dental practice, including patient care, dental assisting techniques, infection control, sterilization and daily clinical operations.

Your career pathway with WIld Smiles includes:

6 weeks of hands-on, on-the-job chairside training in Pensacola during the initial training period.
6 weeks of hands-on, on-the-job chairside training in Crestivew
Continued growth and development with our experienced dental team.

After successfully completing 3 consecutive months of employment and hands-on chairside training, Wild Smiles will sponsor your attendance at the Expanded Functions Dental Certification Course in Gainesville, FL to further advance your skills and career as a Dental Assistant!

Permanent position location: Crestview, FL

Duties

Assist the dentist and clinical team during dental procedures.
Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and materials are ready.
Maintain proper sterilization and infection control protocols.
Learn dental terminology, procedures and workflow processes.
Prepare materials, instruments, and equiptment needed for various dental procedures.
Learn proper use and maintenance of dental equiptment.
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
Assist with treatment coordination by reviewing recommended care and helping patients understand next steps.
Learn how to create and present treatment plans under the guidance of experienced team members.
Learn to confidently navigate dental practice management software.
Learn to schedule patient appointments and help coordinate an efficient daily schedule.

Requirements and Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
Reliable transportation
Must be able to commute to our Pensacola location for initial training.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Strong desire to learn and build a long-term career in pediatric dentistry
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to accept coaching and feedback.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Comfortable interacting with children, parents, and families in a warm and professional manner.
Reliable, punctual and dependable with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks throughout the day.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
