Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sort Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining sorting machinery to ensure efficient production flow. Your expertise will help uphold quality standards and optimize machine performance, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing processes. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor various sorting machines, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently throughout production shifts
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting on equipment such as Fanuc CNC controllers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other industrial automation systems
- Adjust machine settings according to specifications, blueprints, and quality standards using precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers
- Conduct safety checks in compliance with safety standards in production environments, including proper machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures
- Assist with materials handling, loading raw materials into machines, and managing finished product packaging
- Maintain accurate documentation of machine performance, production output, and any issues encountered during operation
- Collaborate with maintenance teams for troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems on equipment such as stamping presses, CNC milling machines, or press brake machines
Skills
- Proficiency with Fanuc CNC systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine operation and troubleshooting
- Experience operating industrial equipment including stamping presses, CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, and flexo presses
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications accurately
- Mechanical knowledge of factory equipment such as tooling setups, welding apparatus, and fabrication tools
- Skilled in using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality control
- Familiarity with safety standards in manufacturing environments to ensure safe work practices at all times
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to machine settings, and quality assessments
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with materials handling processes within a manufacturing facility
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, assembly line operations, packaging, and fabrication techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment issues efficiently using diagnostic tools like CAM programming or CNC diagnostics software
- Experience with SolidWorks or CAD software is a plus for interpreting technical drawings or assisting with tooling design
