Position Purpose
The Social Media Manager is a professional marketing position responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing PM Research, Inc.’s social media presence across all relevant platforms. This role is responsible for driving audience growth, engagement, brand awareness, customer interaction, and content performance through strategic social media planning, compelling storytelling, and disciplined execution.
The Social Media Manager serves as the Company’s primary owner of social media strategy and performance while working closely with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product Development, and external partners to ensure social media efforts support overall business objectives.
This role requires a balance of creativity, strategic thinking, analytical ability, and sound judgment. The Social Media Manager must be capable of creating engaging content, evaluating performance metrics, identifying opportunities for growth, and ensuring all communications align with company values, brand standards, and applicable industry requirements.
Selection for this role is based on demonstrated social media expertise, communication skill, creativity, professionalism, judgment, organizational ability, and the Executive Director of Marketing’s confidence in the individual’s ability to strengthen the Company’s digital presence and brand reputation.
General Responsibilities
The Social Media Manager is responsible for leading and managing social media activities, including:
- Developing and executing multi-platform social media strategies aligned with marketing and business objectives
- Creating, scheduling, and publishing social media content across approved platforms
- Writing compelling, accurate, and brand-consistent social media copy
- Developing social-first campaigns that increase engagement, reach, and audience growth
- Collaborating with creative personnel to develop photography, video, graphics, and other digital content
- Managing community engagement and audience interaction across social media channels
- Monitoring social media trends, platform updates, and industry developments
- Building and maintaining relationships with influencers, content creators, and media partners
- Tracking campaign performance and reporting on key metrics, trends, and opportunities
- Optimizing content strategy based on audience behavior and performance data
- Ensuring all social media communications reflect responsible industry messaging and company standards
- Maintaining social media calendars, content schedules, and campaign timelines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field preferred
- Three (3) to five (5) years of social media management experience required
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the firearms, outdoor recreation, hunting, shooting sports, or related industries required
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing successful social media strategies
- Strong copywriting, storytelling, and content development skills
- Strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X
- Experience with social media management platforms such as Sprout Social or similar systems
- Experience with Meta Business Manager
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, agencies, creators, and business partners
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, professionalism, and sound judgment
- Strong proficiency with AI tools such as ChatGPT or similar systems, or demonstrated ability and willingness to become highly proficient
- Valid driver’s license required
- Reliable attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the firearms, hunting, outdoor recreation, or sporting goods industries
- Knowledge of responsible firearms messaging and industry best practices
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar creative software
- Experience creating, editing, and publishing short-form video content
- Familiarity with project management systems such as Monday.com or similar tools
