Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Sous Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, and maintaining a seamless dining experience for our guests. Your leadership will drive team performance, uphold food safety standards, and support the creation of innovative menus that reflect our commitment to fine dining excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and management skills in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in supervising all kitchen staff, including cooks, food prep personnel, and dishwashers, fostering a collaborative and motivated team atmosphere
Oversee food production processes to ensure consistent quality, presentation, and adherence to recipes and standards
Manage inventory control and food handling procedures to minimize waste and optimize cost efficiency
Ensure compliance with food safety sanitizing procedures and uphold strict sanitation standards across all kitchen areas
Support menu planning and development in collaboration with the culinary team, incorporating dietary considerations and customer preferences
Coordinate shift management activities, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
Lead by example in serving guests with professionalism and hospitality, ensuring an exceptional dining experience at all times

Qualifications

Proven experience in fine dining environments with strong culinary skills and leadership capabilities
Extensive background in food service management, including supervising teams and managing kitchen operations
Familiarity with banquet, catering, and large-scale food production settings
Knowledge of dietary department practices, food safety regulations, sanitizing procedures, and inventory management
Demonstrated ability to manage costs through effective menu planning, portion control, and inventory oversight
Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
Previous restaurant management or supervisory experience is highly preferred
Culinary or hospitality-related certifications are a plus but not mandatory
