Full Job Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for the development implementation, and monitoring of programs to ensure workplace safety and environmental regulatory compliance as well as responsible for the coordination and facilitation of company training and development programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Own the development and maintenance or workplace safety and environmental compliance programs.

Lead safety audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting cycles.

Direct incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

Design and deliver safety training programs across the organization.

Serve as the facilities point of accountability for OSHA, EPA and state regulatory compliance.

Track and report safety metrics to leadership.

Assess training needs for new and existing employees.

Coordinate and present orientation classes.

Identify internal and external training programs to address competency gaps.

Partner with internal stakeholders regarding employee training needs.

Organize, develop, or source training programs to meet specific training needs.

Liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional design.

Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks.

Coordinate safety training to comply with OSHA training requirements.

Inform employees about training options.

Map out training plans for individual employees.

Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.

Track and report on training outcomes.

Provide feedback to program participants and management.

Evaluate and make recommendations on training material and methodology.

Maintain employee training records.

Establish and maintain relationships with external training suppliers.

Coordinate off-site training activities for employees.

Keep current on training design and methodology.

Perform other duties and special assignments as requested by HR Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

B.S./B.A. degree; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, employees, and the general public. Leadership skills to effectively direct employees and ability to properly evaluate comprehension and application of subject material. Knowledge of Windows, Power point, Word, and Excel or similar programs required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
