Full Job Description

Loyal Source is looking for a Nurse Practitioner – Women’s Health for an employment opportunity at the 628th Medical Group, Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina.

About the Role:

The Nurse Practitioner will provide services to support daily clinical operations for the beneficiaries at the 628th Medical Group (MDG) Joint Base (JB) Charleston. The Nurse Practitioner will offer a variety of healthcare services to patients during extended gaps caused by personnel separation and deployments.

Experience:

HCW shall have a minimum of 24 months within the past 36 months of clinical practice experience. Must have knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to provide comprehensive women's health care throughout the lifespan, with an emphasis on reproductive, gynecologic, and family-centered health education; growth

and development, and pathophysiology of disease processes, specific to the obstetrical and gynecological population from menarche through the remainder of the lifespan; a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use as well as the accurate administration of the pharmacologic agent, including dosage calculations as required; the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patients condition including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care; and the computer in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records.

Must have experience in Nexplanon and IUDs of all kinds and be very comfortable with HRT/menopause/perimenopause treatment.

Work duties:

May be granted clinical privileges to provide primary ambulatory healthcare to both obstetrical and gynecological patients.
Diagnose and manage acute episodic and chronic illnesses, minor traumas and behavioral/psychological problems related to women's health.
Teach, counsel, and advise patients, families and communities about current health status, illness(es), and health promotion and disease prevention activities appropriate for age and condition.
Perform well woman exams, comprehensive family planning counseling, infertility evaluations and sexually transmitted infections care of patients.11 of 18
Must possess organization, problem-solving and communication skills to articulate medical requirements to patients, families/care givers, medical and non-medical staff in a professional and courteous way.
Perform initial obstetrical visits and routine prenatal and post-partum care for low-risk pregnancies.
Perform therapeutic procedures as defined and approved on the provider privileges list; and initiate and evaluate treatment regimens which may include prescribing and

dispensing medications appropriate for privileged scope of care.

May perform additional skills such as colposcopy, limited ultrasound, and contraceptive implant insertions/removals, based on appropriate education and training.
May act independently in areas of demonstrated competence within their designated scope of practice, as indicated by "Fully Competent" or code "1" on their privileges list. May work as sole provider with physician consultation available as described below if these specific privileges have been granted as "Fully Competent" or code "1" on the privileges list.
Women's Health Nurse Practitioners (WHNPs) must have physician (privileged for

the same scope of practice) consultation available either in person, by phone, or electronic means when they are performing ambulatory clinic direct patient care activities.

As with any privileged provider, an ongoing professional practice evaluation (OPPE)

is required.

Obtain and document a relevant health history, including a comprehensive obstetric

and gynecologic history, with emphasis on gender-based differences.

Perform and document complete, system, or symptom-directed physical examinations on women, including gynecologic conditions/needs that include, but are not limited to, benign and malignant gynecologic conditions, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, infertility, perimenopause/menopause/postmenopausal and other gender-specific illnesses.
Identify gynecologic deviations from normal, formulate a diagnosis, collaborate, and/or refer as necessary.
Order screening and diagnostic procedures and interpret test results, including, but

not limited to, ultrasound and mammography as well as age-appropriate primary care screens.

Perform and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures, including, but not limited to, cervical cytological screening, microscopy, endometrial biopsies, colposcopy, and intrauterine device (IUD) insertion.
Prescribe therapies, including medications, considering pregnancy and lactation status, sociocultural background, and financial resources.
Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
Provide health promotion and disease prevention services to women across the life cycle, considering age, developmental status, disability, culture, ethnicity, sexual orientation, spiritual/religious affiliation, and lifestyle and psychosocial issues.
Complete orientation and competency verification programs in accordance with (IAW) unit guidelines.
Participate in the orientation and training of newly assigned personnel, as appropriate.
Provide relevant and timely information to these groups and assist with process

improvement for teaching/education to benefit the patients/families in delivering safe

patient care.

Participate in customer service initiatives and medical readiness activities designed to

enhance health services.

Participates in a safe work environment, employee safe work habits and patient safety IAW regulatory agencies, infection control policies, and process improvement initiatives.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Benefits Offered: W2 pay package with paid time off.

Pay: $61.23 per hour + $4.93 H&W
