The Mechanical Piping Designer develops detailed plans, specifications, and drawings for pipe support systems and standardized support components using CAD software. Working from engineering calculations and customer requirements, this role translates technical concepts into accurate, manufacturable designs that support efficient production and high-quality products.

Create, review, and revise pipe support designs, specifications, and detailed drawings based on engineering calculations and customer requirements.

Design components for new and existing products, ensuring compliance with functional, structural, and manufacturing requirements.

Maintain accuracy and completeness of drawings and bills of materials to minimize manufacturing rework.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality design solutions and support project goals.

Partner with estimating, manufacturing, operations, production, and customers to support new and redesigned products.

Develop technically sound designs that meet budget and project requirements.

Apply relevant industry codes, standards, and best practices to assigned work.

Utilize Support Modeler, MicroStation, PDMS, AutoCAD, and 2D/3D modeling tools to create and manage designs.

Maintain organized and secure electronic design documentation.

Ensure drawings and documents meet engineering standards before release to manufacturing.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

3-5+ years of experience in CAD and 3D modeling, preferably within pipe support design.

Proficiency in computer-aided drafting and structural drafting techniques.

Experience with 3D modeling software for piping and pipe support applications.

Ability to work effectively in both 2D and 3D CAD environments.

Advanced AutoCAD skills.

Experience using Support Modeler, MicroStation, and PDMS.

Strong attention to detail, particularly with drawings and bills of materials.

Ability to interpret engineering calculations, specifications, and technical instructions.

Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.

Strong communication and teamwork skills with engineering, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams.

Certification or diploma in AutoCAD or a related CAD discipline.

This position operates in a professional engineering and manufacturing environment using CAD and 2D/3D modeling software. The Mechanical Piping Designer works closely with engineering, estimating, manufacturing, operations, and production teams in a collaborative setting. The role is primarily office-based and utilizes AutoCAD, Support Modeler, MicroStation, and PDMS. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
