Retail Sales Associate

Misha & Puff | Newburyport, Massachusetts

We are looking for a thoughtful, motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our Newburyport shop part-time (opportunity for full-time). Weekend availability is a must, with potential for this role to grow into a full-time position. This is not a seasonal position.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, has a strong instinct for customer service and sales, and is excited to learn our product and point of view. Every day in the shop is different, and our team should be just as comfortable styling a customer on the sales floor as they are answering an email, replenishing inventory, or jumping into a project behind the scenes.

We’re looking for:

Someone warm, approachable, and genuinely excited about working with customers.
A strong salesperson who listens, builds trust, and makes thoughtful recommendations.
A capable teammate who is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and willing to jump in wherever needed.
Someone curious about product, fit, styling, fabrication, and how things are made.
Someone who can easily transition between customer-facing work and operational tasks.
1–2 years of retail experience preferred, particularly in women’s, children’s, luxury apparel, or accessories.
Someone open to feedback and excited to learn and grow with our team.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Creating a warm, thoughtful, and personal experience for every customer.
Working toward sales goals while building relationships with new and returning customers.
Learning the fit, styling, fabrication, and care of Misha & Puff products to confidently advise customers.
Helping customers with styling, sizing, gifting, and product recommendations.
Keeping the sales floor clean, organized, stocked, and merchandised appropriately.
Communicating with customers via email and phone around product questions, virtual styling, and online purchases.
Assisting with e-commerce, order fulfillment, POS transactions, and customer records.
Supporting inventory management, replenishment, stock organization, and purchase orders.
Assisting with visual merchandising, social content, and general shop upkeep.
Preparing for and supporting shop events, our annual Sample Sale, and occasional off-site events throughout New England.

Especially excited to meet candidates with:

Knowledge of or enthusiasm for Misha & Puff.
Experience with luxury children’s and/or women’s fashion, styling, or clienteling.
An appreciation for knitwear, craftsmanship, and thoughtful product.
Experience with Shopify, e-commerce, CRM, or online customer service.
A strong eye for visual merchandising and product presentation.

Weekend availability is required, along with flexibility around events and busy periods. Candidates must be comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs.

Above all, we are looking for someone who likes people, loves product, notices the details, and understands that great retail is equal parts hospitality, sales, product knowledge, and teamwork.
