Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our team as a Civil Engineer Project Manager. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead civil development projects from initial concept through construction and final closeout while contributing to the continued growth of our engineering department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for project design, permitting, municipal approvals, construction administration, client management, and overall project delivery. This role combines technical engineering expertise with project leadership and offers advancement opportunities for individuals interested in taking on broader leadership responsibilities in the future.

Key Responsibilities

Manage civil engineering projects from conceptual planning through construction completion and project closeout.
Design residential subdivision developments and commercial site development projects.
Prepare engineering calculations, grading plans, drainage analyses, utility layouts, and permitting documents.
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to perform project design and drafting.
Coordinate utility approvals and municipal permitting requirements.
Represent projects before planning commissions, municipal review boards, and regulatory agencies.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, municipalities, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate internally with surveying, planning, and inspection teams.
Review contractor pay applications during construction.
Monitor project progress and resolve engineering-related construction issues.
Complete project closeout activities, including as-built documentation and post-construction verification.
Participate in project review meetings and team coordination sessions.
Support quality assurance and quality control initiatives through peer review processes.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.
Commitment to teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with residential subdivision and/or commercial site development projects.
Knowledge of drainage design, grading, utility coordination, and site development engineering.
Experience navigating municipal permitting and approval processes.
Experience presenting projects to planning commissions, public agencies, or review boards.
Project management experience within a consulting engineering environment.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
