Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile General Worker to join our excavation team. In this role, you will be instrumental in executing a wide range of tasks related to heavy equipment operation, utility systems installation, and construction site management. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects, including sewer lines, stormwater systems, water supply systems, and underground utilities.

Duties

Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to perform earthmoving, trenching, and material handling tasks.
Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute pipe installations, utility trenching, and system layouts.
Install and repair sanitary drainage systems, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, water supply lines, and underground utilities following blueprint specifications and safety regulations.
Conduct construction trenching activities while adhering strictly to federal construction safety regulations and safety protocol adherence.
Use hand tools and specialized equipment like pipe lasers for precise pipe installation and alignment.
Perform concrete finishing, forming, and related tasks for infrastructure projects requiring concrete work.
Locate underground utilities using utility locating equipment to prevent damage during excavation activities.
Maintain compliance with all safety regulations while operating equipment such as forklifts and ensuring safe work practices on construction sites.
Assist with plumbing, pipeline installation projects in oil & gas or municipal infrastructure sectors as needed.
Support the installation of sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, sewer lines, water supply systems, and other utility system installation projects with attention to detail.

Skills

Proficiency in heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader operation, backhoe operation, excavator use, and front loader trucks.
Strong ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately for construction plans interpretation.
Experience with utility locating techniques for underground utilities installation projects.
Skilled in using hand tools for various construction tasks such as concrete forming or pipe fitting.
Knowledge of wastewater systems, sanitary drainage systems, sewer line installation, stormwater management systems, and underground utilities installation.
Familiarity with construction trenching procedures following federal safety standards.
Ability to operate pipe lasers for precise alignment during pipe installation projects.
Understanding of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction site safety protocols.
Experience working on pipeline projects involving plumbing or oil & gas infrastructure is a plus.
Capable of interpreting technical drawings accurately to ensure project specifications are met efficiently.
