Electrical Project Engineer

Ann Arbor, MI

An engineering firm is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer specializing in distribution to serve as the disciplinary lead on electrical distribution design projects supporting utility clients. You will manage full life cycle engineering projects, from planning and design through construction support and closeout, working directly with utility clients on distribution infrastructure. This role is available in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with additional openings in Raleigh, North Carolina and Orlando, Florida.

Schedule Full time, in office three days per week (hybrid).

Compensation $140,000 to $190,000 per year, depending on experience.

What You'll Do You will serve as the single disciplinary lead for electrical distribution design on assigned projects, managing and performing engineering activities across the full project life cycle. You will develop engineering calculations, specifications, single-line diagrams, and construction drawings, and provide technical guidance and quality review on project deliverables.

You will coordinate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines, and support business development and client relationship activities. You will also mentor junior engineers on the team.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
5 or more years of experience in electrical distribution engineering
Demonstrated experience working with utility clients
Full project life cycle experience, from concept through construction

Preferred Qualifications

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience with overhead and underground distribution design
Familiarity with NESC, utility standards, and distribution planning
Experience with protection and automation systems
Strong client-facing and project coordination skills

Compensation and Benefits

Salary of $140,000 to $190,000 per year, depending on experience
