We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the lifecycle of custom automation equipment, taking projects from the initial brainstorming phase to the final physical build. The person we are looking for brings at least 4 years of mechanical design experience, specifically within the realm of engineered-to-order systems, robotics, manufacturing equipment, or custom machinery. We place a high value on those who have a background in creating end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), fixtures, machine subcomponents, and complex mechanical assemblies.
Your Responsibilities-
Engineer custom automation machinery, specialized mechanisms, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies.

Translate project objectives, engineering specs, and client requirements into comprehensive design concepts.

Generate 3D models, detailed assembly drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation using CAD software like SolidWorks.

Design and refine end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) to improve the efficiency of robotic and automated processes.

Develop machine subcomponents, including frames, brackets, guards, motion-related parts, and various fixtures.

Oversee the full project lifecycle, from initial layout and design through to fabrication, assembly, testing, and final deployment.

Select optimal materials and mechanical components to balance performance, cost, and ease of manufacturing.

Partner with electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams to ensure the seamless integration of automation systems.

Engage in design reviews to clearly communicate technical intent to machinists, fabricators, and assembly staff.

Resolve mechanical design issues during the build and commissioning phases by implementing necessary modifications.

Ensure that all designs are optimized for ease of manufacturing, assembly, operation, and ongoing service.

Required Qualifications-
A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in mechanical design.
