Dun-Mor Design in Troy, MI is searching for an embroidery machine operator to add to our team . In this role, it will be your job to set up embroidery machines and operate them. You’ll be tasked with carrying out the sewing work that has been requested by our clients. This can involve sewing logos into fabric, creating various patterns, and similar tasks.
You’ll also be expected to perform regular maintenance of your machines. This will ensure that it’s able to operate efficiently as you work to complete our clients’ orders. Other tasks will include troubleshooting faulty embroidery machines and consulting with clients and supervisors to ensure that you’re meeting all specifications.
You should also have the ability to work efficiently while staying on top of multiple projects and be able to understand the concept of sewing. If you think that you have what it takes to do well in this job, then we’d love to hear from you.
Duties:
- Setup and operate single and multi-head embroidery machines
- Help maintain embroidery schedule, adjusting jobs as needed based on availability and deadlines
- Ability to read work orders, set up jobs, load designs and change thread
- Run sew-outs for customer approval
- Cut/trim backing, steam, fold and box orders as needed
- Maintain machines to ensure proper working order and clean work stations
- Maintain a high level of detail and organization for quality assurance
- Ability to maintain speed and efficiency to meet production timelines
- Follow up with Managers with any production questions
- Must be able to prioritize tasks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Embroidery experience preferred but willing to train
- Excellent communicator with positive attitude
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate problem solving skills and ability to work independently
- Must be able to stand and be on your feet for majority of shift
- Must be physically capable of lifting, bending, reaching and working with your hands for an extended period of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
