Personal Injury Case Manager

Who we are

Rafi, Brown, and Stokes is a personal injury law firm based in Atlanta, Georgia at 1776 Peachtree Street. We focus on a small number of cases and seek to maximize the value of each case. We represent victims—people injured in tractor-trailer, commercial motor vehicle, and automobile accidents; people stabbed, shot, or assaulted in negligent security cases; and others who are seriously injured. We are a tight knit team of 5 lawyers and 5 staff members who work together to win cases for our clients. We like to think that the cases work on are not run-of-the-mill, but interesting and challenging. Many of our cases have been featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Marietta Daily Journal, 11Alive, and other publications. These are the type of cases that the person in this role will work on.

Who we want to work with

A lot of job postings say the ideal candidate has at least 2 years of law firm work experience, as a paralegal, case manager, or other staff position. In addition, they want someone with an associate degree (preferably in paralegal studies), a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor’s degree. Fluent Spanish speakers have an advantage.

To some extent we are the same way—we would like those applicants too. But most importantly, we want people who “buy in” to what we are doing here. What you’ll do

As a Case Manager, you would be coordinating all aspects of cases from the potential client’s first phone call to our firm through pre-litigation. Case Managers gather and analyze intake information and relevant documents, maintain contact with insurance companies, investigate crashes/crimes/etc., draft documents to help our clients case, communicate with our clients about their cases and needs, draft demands to try to settle cases, and close out files upon completion.

Specifically, a Case Manager at Rafi, Brown, and Stokes does some of the following:

Assist in answering phones
Communicate with our clients about their cases and needs and document that communication in our internal case management system
Help coordinate medical treatment for clients, if necessary
Gather initial information from our clients
Request and organize medical records and bills
Request police reports, videos, audio, and 911 records
Post and update all new cases in systems promptly and accurately
Prepare and send out initial letters to insurance companies
Verify insurance coverage and maintain contact with insurance companies
Data entry for new cases and other various tasks
Draft settlement demands
Calendar deadlines and appointments
Interview witnesses
Obtain medical and health insurance balances and negotiate reductions
Close out files

What we’re offering

The salary range for this position is $55,000-$70,000 depending on experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for performance bonuses.
