Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Patient Coordinator to join our vibrant dental practice. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless experience from appointment scheduling to treatment coordination. Your energetic approach and excellent communication skills will help foster positive relationships, manage patient flow, and support clinical staff in delivering outstanding dental care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to improving patient health and confidence through exceptional service.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Weave
Verify insurance coverage, process payments, and handle collections efficiently with knowledge of medical billing, ADA coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Dental insurance policies
Manage patient records with strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all medical records and care plans are up-to-date
Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and timely treatment delivery
Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, providing clear information about services, appointments, and billing

Requirements

Proven experience in a medical or dental office setting with strong clerical and administrative skills
Knowledge of medical/dental terminology, health insurance processes, and medical coding including CPT, ICD-9/10 codes
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual environments preferred
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and 10-key typing proficiency
Ability to review medical documentation accurately while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards
Prior clinic or front desk experience is highly desirable; familiarity with medical billing and healthcare compliance policies is a plus
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in scheduling and record management
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while demonstrating professionalism and empathy in patient interactions
