Location: Pompano Beach, FL (Broward County)
Employment Type: Full-Time | In Office

About Us

RJ Roberts & Company is the parent company of AllDayShirts.com and LogoUp.com, leading distributors of apparel and promotional products. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Compliance & Internal Audit Specialist to help strengthen our compliance programs and reduce business risk.

This is a hands-on position responsible for sales tax compliance, Avalara administration, exemption certificate management, internal audits, and a variety of corporate compliance functions. The ideal candidate enjoys finding problems before they become costly issues and is passionate about building efficient, compliant processes.

Responsibilities

· Manage and maintain Avalara sales tax software.

· Review and validate customer exemption certificates.

· Perform ongoing audits of tax-exempt customers and sales tax transactions.

· Research multi-state sales tax regulations and taxability questions.

· Prepare documentation and assist with state sales tax audits.

· Monitor state registrations, nexus, and compliance requirements.

· Conduct internal compliance audits and recommend process improvements.

· Review manual tax overrides and identify potential compliance risks.

· Maintain supplier resale certificates and compliance documentation.

· Coordinate insurance audits, business license renewals, and related compliance activities.

· Maintain organized records and supporting documentation.

· Work closely with Accounting, Customer Service, IT, and Operations to improve compliance processes.

· Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).

· Prepare reports and communicate findings to management.

Qualifications

· 3+ years of experience in sales tax compliance, accounting, auditing, or corporate compliance.

· Hands-on experience with Avalara strongly preferred.

· Experience managing exemption certificates.

· Knowledge of multi-state sales and use tax requirements.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

· Experience in distribution, e-commerce, wholesale, or manufacturing is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

· Avalara experience.

· Experience supporting state tax audits.

· Internal audit or compliance background.

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
