Staff Accountant / CPA (Entry-Level to Experienced)

B. Johnson & Associates, Ltd. is a well-established, mid-sized CPA firm in Brainerd, Minnesota, and we're growing! We're looking for an experienced CPA, Staff Accountant, or recent accounting graduate who wants more than just a job—you'll have the opportunity to build relationships, make an impact, and grow your career alongside an experienced and supportive team.

What You'll Do

As a Staff Accountant, you'll work closely with partners, managers, and clients while gaining exposure to a variety of industries and services.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare business and individual income tax returns
Prepare financial statements and assist with accounting engagements
Maintain client accounting records and implement accounting procedures
Prepare account reconciliations, journal entries, depreciation schedules, payroll entries, prepaid accounts, and other general ledger activity
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
Assist with audit and review engagements
Build trusted relationships with clients while providing exceptional service
Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality work

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA or CPA candidate preferred (not required)
0-3 years of public accounting experience (new graduates are encouraged to apply)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office is preferred
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
