POSITION/TITLE: Mechanical Design Engineer - Custom Automation Equipment
JOB DESCRIPTION : The Mechanical Design Engineer will apply engineering principles, mechanical design practices, and problem-solving skills to design, develop, and improve custom automation systems, machinery, tooling, and mechanical devices.
This position is responsible for taking projects from initial concept through detailed design and supporting the manufacturing, assembly, and installation processes. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, machinists, electricians, machine builders, and project managers.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 2-4 Years of experience
- Valid driver's license
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering and design principles
- Experience designing mechanical systems, machinery, equipment, tooling, or automation
- Meet with clients and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements
- Using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs to plan and execute mechanical designs
- Perform computer simulations and experiments to test and refine the designs
- Document design process, iterations, and test analytics
- Collaborate with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence
- Capable to prepare technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals for customers
- Keeping the operators at high priority, ensuring safety, design trends, and best practices – installed in designs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Great time management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Detailed oriented
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical designs from customer requirements, projecct specifications, and conceptual designs.
- Create and maintain detailed 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Select appropriate materials, components, hardware, bearing, motors, actuators, and other mechanical elements based on design requirements
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements
- Design components and assemblies with consideration for manufacturability, assembly, maintenance, and cost
- Review designs for proper fit, function, clearances, tolerances, and interference
- Work closelty with manufacturing personnel to resolve design and fabrication issues
- Provide engineering support during machine build, assembly, debugging, and installation
- Make design modifications and improvements based on build feedback and testing
- Collaborate with controls engineers, electrical engineers, machinists, welders, machine builders, and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with developing project timelines and provide accurate estimates for engineering and design activities.
- Communicate design concepts and technical information effectively with internal teams and customers when required.
- Review customer specifications, drawings, and documentation to ensure design requirements are met.
- Participate in design reviews and project meetings.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision control.
- Identify potential design issues and develop practical solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, company standards, and safety requirements.
- Assist with continuous improvement efforts to improve equipment performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability
- Perform other duties assigned by management
