JOB SUMMARY:
Continuously responsible for providing professional nursing service (according to qualifications and training) and non-professional services as directed. Directly responsible for performing patient care functions according to established standards, policies, and procedures.

1. Provide clinical and administrative support under the direction of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Nursing Supervisors.
2. Effectively use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care through data gathering, planning, and evaluation.
3. Communicate effectively and professionally with all patients, guests, family members and co-workers to ensure a quality patient experience.
4. Works collaboratively with the providers within the team setting to facilitate quality care for the patient.
5. Assist providers with patient assessment, examination, and treatments.
6. Adapt to rapid change in a positive manner throughout the day as the needs of the clinic change.
7. Maintain a clean and safe environment by sterilizing equipment, reporting unsafe/hazardous conditions, and defective equipment.
8. Adheres to all clinic infection control, hazardous waste, and pharmacy protocols.
9. Maintain a well-stocked patient care area. Notify appropriate departments to replenish stock as necessary.
10. Document patient care, observation, and activities according to professional standards and procedures.
11. Maintain confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the organization.
12. Respond to patient inquiries via telephone or in person.
13. Follow up with patients on lab results, including scheduling of any additional tests.
14. Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.
15. Comply with organizational and departmental established policies and procedures.
16. Attend required organizational educational in-service meeting and departmental functions.
17. Float to other clinics as needed.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing is required.
Certification(s): An active and unrestricted license to practice in the state of Louisiana as a Licensed Practical Nurse is required. BLS certification is required.
Work Experience: Desired, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time at a desk and working on a computer

Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers to provide patient care and operate a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment

Frequently move about the clinic and facility to access various departments and patient care areas.
- Frequently position self, such as bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, or twisting to retrieve and maintain equipment, assist patients, provide patient care, etc.

Ability to hear and respond to telephone calls, alarms, and normal office conversations

Visual acuity sufficient to read medication labels, printed documents, computer screens, and handwritten materials
- Frequently move, lift, push, or pull etc. items such as wheelchairs, boxes, equipment, patients, etc. weighing up to 50 pounds for various needs.
