Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Lead Dental CAD/CAM Designer to join our innovative dental team. In this role, you will spearhead the digital design and fabrication of dental prosthetics, ensuring precision, quality, and patient satisfaction. As a leader in CAD/CAM technology within the dental laboratory environment, you will oversee the development of complex restorations, including full arch dental restorations, implant prosthodontics, and removable prosthodontics. Your expertise will drive the seamless integration of digital workflows, from chairside assisting to laboratory fabrication, elevating our practice’s standards and patient outcomes. Duties

Lead the digital design process for dental prosthetics using advanced CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, ensuring accurate and functional restorations.
Oversee the creation of 3D models for complex cases such as full arch restorations, implant-supported prostheses, and removable dentures.
Collaborate closely with clinicians to interpret patient data, medical imaging, and medical records to inform precise digital designs aligned with treatment plans.
Supervise and participate in the fabrication of dental prostheses, including ceramic finishing, laboratory techniques, and custom prosthetic fabrication.
Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations during all stages of design and fabrication processes.
Maintain comprehensive medical documentation and records related to each case for quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
Provide mentorship and training to team members on CAD/CAM software applications, laboratory techniques, and emerging digital dentistry trends.

Skills

Extensive experience with digital design for dental prosthetics using CAD software; proficiency in CAM software is essential.
Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, occlusion principles, and laboratory techniques related to prosthodontics.
Familiarity with chairside assisting procedures, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Expertise in implantology procedures, complete denture fabrication, removable prosthodontics, and full arch restoration workflows.
Ability to interpret medical imaging such as CBCT scans for precise implant placement planning.
Knowledge of ceramics materials, dental equipment operation, and laboratory finishing techniques.
Excellent understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques within a dental setting.
Effective communication skills for patient assessment documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Prior laboratory experience in dental fabrication environments is highly desirable.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in micrometer use for precise measurements is a plus.
