Position Summary
Priority 1 Signs is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Manufacturing / Sign Production Technician to join our sign shop. This position is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, wiring, finishing, and preparation of custom signs for installation.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with tools and materials, takes pride in quality workmanship, works efficiently, and can follow production drawings and instructions with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture and assemble custom signage according to approved drawings, specifications, and work orders.
Fabricate and assemble channel letters, dimensional letters, cabinets, raceways, panels, and other types of signage.Install and wire LED lighting and power supplies in illuminated signs.Cut, drill, bend, route, assemble, and finish various sign materials.
Work with aluminum, acrylic, PVC, Dibond, aluminum composite materials, vinyl, and other sign-making materials.
Read and understand shop drawings, measurements, dimensions, and production specifications.
Operate common shop tools and equipment safely and properly.
Perform quality-control inspections throughout the manufacturing process.Identify and correct production issues before signs are sent for installation.Prepare completed signs for shipping or installation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Properly handle and maintain company tools, equipment, and materials.Communicate with supervisors and other production team members regarding job status, materials, and production issues.Complete assigned work within established production schedules.
Assist with loading and unloading materials and finished signs when required.Perform other manufacturing and shop duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous experience in sign manufacturing, fabrication, construction, electrical work, carpentry, welding, or a related hands-on trade preferred.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
Basic understanding of electrical components and LED lighting preferred.Ability to read measurements and work accurately with a tape measure.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and finished signage as required.
Must be willing to learn new fabrication techniques and production processes.Valid driver’s license preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
Ability to frequently bend, reach, kneel, climb, and use hands for fabrication and assembly.
Ability to lift and move materials and finished signage.
Ability to work around machinery, power tools, electrical components, adhesives, and fabrication materials while following required safety procedures.
