Role Overview

As a School-Based BCBA at CAS in Aurora, CO, you'll serve as a key clinical partner to students, educators, and school teams. You'll design and oversee behavioral programming across multiple classrooms, support IEP teams, and collaborate closely with instructional staff to promote meaningful, sustainable outcomes for students with ASD and/or Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD).

This role is ideal for BCBAs who enjoy collaborative environments, value flexibility, and want to make a direct impact within educational systems.

What You'll Do

Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Utilize a range of assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, SSIS) to identify strengths and learning needs
Collect, analyze, and apply behavioral data across a wide range of behaviors - not limited to problem behavior - to guide decision-making and monitor progress
Ensure fidelity of implementation through ongoing data review and program adjustments across multiple classroom settings
Coach and model evidence-based behavioral strategies for teachers, instructional assistants, and support staff
Provide supervision, training, and support to ABA Instructors, RBTs, and Behavior Technicians in school settings
Collaborate with special education teams, administrators, and families to support generalization and long-term success
Serve as a consultant to IEP teams, contributing to student-centered behavioral programming for eligible students and new eligibility determinations (MTSS/RTI process)
Support students with augmented and alternative communication (AAC, PECS, sign language, and other systems)
Partner with medical professionals, school counselors, and when appropriate, law enforcement to ensure students are being served across all environments
Implement restorative justice practices and trauma-informed approaches (e.g., SOAR) where applicable
Deliver professional development sessions, workshops, and classroom-based trainings
Maintain timely, accurate documentation aligned with district and regulatory standards
Implement proactive behavior support and crisis prevention strategies
Provide in-the-moment guidance and debriefing during behavioral escalation

Qualifications

Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field
Current, active BCBA certification in good standing
Minimum of 2+ years of experience providing ABA services in school-based or educational settings
Experience overseeing multiple classrooms and providing staff training, coaching, and program implementation

For Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD):

Experience working with students with ASD across all ability levels - from non-verbal to social skills development
Experience working in school districts and/or consulting with schools to support individual student needs
Proficiency with augmented and alternative communication systems (AAC, PECS, sign language, etc.)
Experience with the MTSS/RTI process and IEP development for existing and new eligibilities
Experience writing and supervising FBAs and Behavior Intervention Plans in school settings
Comprehensive data collection skills across all behavior types, not limited to problem behaviors

For Students with Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD):

Experience supporting students with emotional regulation disorders across all severity levels, including those with inpatient psychiatric histories or placements in alternative settings
Experience partnering with medical professionals and law enforcement to ensure students receive coordinated, comprehensive support
Familiarity with restorative justice practices, SOAR, and other trauma-informed frameworks
Experience with the MTSS/RTI process and IEP development for existing and new eligibilities
Experience writing and supervising FBAs and Behavior Intervention Plans in school settings
Comprehensive data collection skills across all behavior types, not limited to problem behaviors
