Job Purpose: Lead and direct production team members in the safe and efficient completion of duties assigned in order to meet production and quality requirements of the organization and customers. Communicates management’s priorities to Production Assemblers.
Duties:
· Act as a liaison between Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations to confirm that drawings and requirements are understood and correct.
· Participate in drawing and bill of material (BOM) reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness.
· Provide daily project status updates to the Operations Manager to support planning and execution.
· Adjust labor and reallocate resources as needed to meet production goals and customer ship dates.
· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.
· Learn the product line and production processes to effectively support and guide Production Assemblers.
· Communicate work orders and daily production goals to Production Assemblers and set priorities for the day.
· Inspect materials, track inventory, and coordinate with Logistics to ensure material availability.
· Assemble products to specifications, following work instructions and inspecting both personal and team output for quality.
· Create clear work instructions and train assemblers on correct assembly processes and techniques.
· Ensure work orders are completed accurately and on time to meet customer expectations.
· Inspect final assemblies to verify they meet customer specifications and quality standards.
· Correct and guide assembler processes to reduce errors and improve quality.
· Maintain accurate documentation through production quality forms and computer data entry.
· Prepare products for shipment, including appropriate packaging.
· Support a positive, team-oriented work environment and promote clear communication across departments.
· Maintain flexibility in scheduling to accommodate fluctuating customer needs and may be required to work overtime or Saturdays as necessary.
· Participate in ongoing training and development to increase personal and team knowledge.
· Support other departments or production cells when needed to assist with various tasks
· Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
· Communicates the work orders, production goals, and focuses the workday of the Production Assemblers
· Organizes raw materials for assembly which includes, inspecting materials for defects, checking stock to determine inventory level and supply needs, and communicating with the Logistics department the need and quantity of parts to maintain sufficient inventory levels
· Assembles products to specifications, follows work instructions, prepares work station parts and tools, ensures correct assembly of products and inspects own work as well as team members, and seeks guidance from the Production Manager in order to accomplish production goals
· Creates clear work instructions for team members and trains assemblers on proper assembly processes, techniques and duties
· Informs Production Assemblers of output requirements and ensures assemblers fulfill work orders within designated timeframes
· Inspects and verifies assembled products meet the customer specifications and quality standards, and corrects Production Assembler production processes to reduce future errors
· Works diligently and in a focused manner and maintains an upbeat, professional demeanor at all times in order to set a positive example for Production Assemblers
· Documents actions by completing production quality forms and data entry on the computer in order to keep detailed, accurate records
· Prepares the product for shipment which may including packing the product for safe transport
· Maintains and contributes to a positive working environment and promotes positive communications;
· Maintains a flexible work schedule in order to accommodate customers’ fluctuating needs
· Participates in training activities in order to increase personal skills and knowledge as well as train others
· Remains flexible as needed to perform roles working in other departments or production cells to assist with various work tasks
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Skills/Qualifications:
· Required high school diploma or GED equivalent
· Related vocational schooling or Associates Degree in electronics preferred
· , and related materials
· Ability to interact with employees at all levels within the company
· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, or other programs that strive for continuous quality improvement
· Forklift experience preferred, not required
· Multi-tasking, setting and organizing priorities, and meeting deadlines for self and others work product
· Intermediate/advanced computer skills in MS office suite (Work, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
· Ability to proficiently use hand tools and in some instances use power tools
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and directions
· Intermediate knowledge of technical terms
· Advanced ability to interpret technical drawings and procedures
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks each workday and maintain a positive attitude
· Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 75lbs, stoop, bend over, and stand for long periods of time
· Ability to work in extreme temperatures during various seasonal changes
· Ability to self discipline and work at a steady pace as well as assist others with tasks when requested by management or work is slow
· Ability to accurately measure components and accurately fit into designated areas for product assembly
· Must be able to discern size, difference of parts, and direction to assemble hardware types and parts
· Possess good dexterity and strength in hands and uses fingers to assemble products within time constraints
· Must have good vision in order to assemble parts properly and timely
