Full Job Description

South Denver Gastroenterology, a 52-year-old independent, private gastroenterology practice is looking for our next Revenue Cycle Director. Our current Revenue Cycle Director will be retiring.

Considerable knowledge of the healthcare revenue-cycle environment and a strong understanding of medical billing principles are required for this position. Experience in revenue-cycle system implementation, configuration, and assessment and knowledge of medical records information systems are important to the role, along with knowledge of medical terminology. Candidates should have a proven ability to develop, analyze, implement and monitor productivity levels and quality-improvement strategies, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with C -suite administration, physicians and peers. A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or healthcare administration is required and at least 5 years of healthcare revenue cycle and supervisory experience are preferred; a professional coder certification is preferred. Athena experience is preferred, but not required. This is a five day per week, in-person position.

Revenue cycle director duties and responsibilities:

Ensuring continuity of revenue cashflows for a large practice of over 40 providers
Auditing insurance payments to ensure contractual rates are being maintained.
Overseeing and managing the operations of the billing department
Planning and directing patient insurance documentation, workload coding, billing and data processing to ensure accurate billing and efficient account collection
Analyzing billing and claims for accuracy and completeness, submitting claims to proper insurance entities and working with team on denials to follow up on discrepancies
Auditing current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of billing operations Ensuring that billing operations are conducted in compliance with federal, state and payer regulations, guidelines and requirements
Participating in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures
Supervising billing personnel
Meets quarterly with the Executive Committee made up of elected physicians and the CEO to review progress and policies.
Bi-Weekly meetings with the CEO
Weekly meetings with the current Revenue Cycle Director
Weekly meetings with the entire Management team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
