Full Job Description

A great UHY client is seeking a Global Tax Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong tax compliance and tax accounting experience, recent leadership experience, and the ability to manage domestic and international tax activities in a dynamic global environment.

The Global Tax Manager role is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office. This is a direct hire position.

Global Tax Manager Responsibilities

Lead and manage the global tax compliance and tax provision process for U.S. and international entities.
Coordinate with external tax advisors and return preparation firms to gather and report tax data for tax provisions and income tax returns.
Prepare and review tax reporting packages for domestic and foreign entities in collaboration with local finance teams.
Maintain and analyze book-to-tax differences, deferred tax balances, effective tax rate calculations, tax account reconciliations, rollforwards, valuation allowances, and other tax accounting schedules.
Monitor and coordinate tax compliance activities for foreign subsidiaries, including local tax filings, transfer pricing support, cash tax forecasting, and book tax planning.
Manage and review indirect tax activities, including sales and use tax filings, VAT compliance, exemption certificates, personal property tax filings, and state and local business licenses.
Respond to inquiries, assessments, and audits from federal, state, local, and international tax authorities.
Support domestic and international income tax audits by gathering documentation, coordinating responses, and assisting with audit strategy.
Partner with external advisors to prepare annual transfer pricing documentation and support related compliance requirements.
Perform tax research and provide guidance related to new tax legislation, business transactions, and evolving tax regulations.
Collaborate with Finance and cross-functional business partners to support tax planning initiatives and operational improvements.
Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, reporting, and internal controls.
Supervise, mentor, and develop a direct report through coaching, goal setting, and performance management.
Manage multiple priorities and special projects while ensuring timely completion of all tax deliverables.

Global Tax Manager Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
CPA preferred but not required.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive tax experience.
At least 3 years of recent supervisory or leadership experience.
Strong background in tax compliance, tax accounting, and income tax provisions.
Experience coordinating with external tax advisors and international subsidiaries.
Knowledge of domestic and international tax regulations, including transfer pricing and indirect tax compliance.
Experience with sales and use tax, VAT, business licenses, and personal property tax reporting.
Strong analytical, organizational, research, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
Experience with OneStream and PLEX is preferred but not required.
Public accounting experience is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively within a larger organization.
