Supports the goals and objectives of the practice. Responsibilities include courteously and professionally greeting patients and assisting with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs, collecting health history and scribing patient notes for physicians.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
● Provide support to physician during examinations, office surgeries including Mohs procedures, medical/cosmetic procedures, dressing changes and other first aid procedures.
● Assists with instrument handling and exam/procedure preparation
● Assists with injections.
● Assist patients with pre and post procedure instructions, prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing
● Maintains clean, warm and inviting examination rooms for patient visits
● Intake/rooming of patients
● Cleans rooms as needed
● Obtain patients' chief complaints and medical histories
● Performs suture removal and medical dressings
● Completes paperwork for laboratories and ensures proper paperwork is uploaded into patients’ electronic medical records
● Ensures all referral letters are sent back to the referring physician
● Notifies patients with pathology and/or laboratory results as needed
● Educates patients
● Sterilizes instruments
● Stocks exam/surgical rooms
● All other standard medical assistant duties
● Performs other Job Activities as assigned per office location
● Triage patients
● Prescribe and send assigned prescription
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education and Experience:
High School graduate or equivalent
Medical Assisting Certification
1-3 years dermatology office experience
EMA experience preferred

● MA Daily Tasks When in Clinic (Setup Cautery, Disperse both sizes Lidocaine syringes, Wash & pack instruments)
● Mid Day MA Tasks (Put away lidocaine syringes, turn off or Put away cautery as needed, check call messages)
● P.M. MA Tasks (Wash & pack instruments, Restock boxes, Check prescriptions, Put away lidocaine syringes, Scan & file documents, Clean patient rooms, Put away Laser key, restock rooms and all boxes)
● Ensure all patient rx are sent every day before leaving
● Empty biohazard trash
● Wipe down rooms and Cavi wipe at the end of each day
