Full Job Description

The Princeton Chef is a personalized meal service located in Princeton, NJ and is expanding into Philadelphia.

Looking for experienced individuals who believe they would fit perfectly as someone's very own chef!

What the job entails:

The chef will get set up with a client and then they take over communicating with them and planning their weekly menu. The chef purchases the ingredients then takes what they need to the client's home and prepares the meals there. The food gets stored away in the client's containers, labelled and the chef leaves the kitchen as clean or cleaner than when they arrived.

Chef is responsible for:

-Communicating directly with the client to menu plan, scheduling their cooking day and answering any questions

-Menu planning, shopping, cooking in the client's home, packing and putting the food away and cleaning within a certain time frame.

-Providing itemized receipts after their cooking visit for invoicing

Chefs are to work fast, clean and need to be able to improvise on their own. Menus are to be creative, seasonal and adhere to any food allergies or restrictions. Since this is a solo job, the chef needs to feel confident handling the menu from start to finish.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in becoming a personal/private chef. However, priority will be given to those with experience, especially when it comes to working with clients who have severe food allergies or very restrictive diets. A lot of clients are busy families so being familiar with family friendly meals is a plus, but many have very specific food needs to be handled with care.

I love seeing a culinary school background, but if you have some experience with this type of work and feel confident taking on a lot of responsibility in the kitchen and handling client care, please submit your resume!
