Full Job Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across Tool & Die, Automation, Manufacturing, and Project Execution functions. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to customer expectations while driving operational efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement. The Operations Manager provides leadership to production, tooling, automation, engineering, and project teams to support company growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily operations for Tool & Die, Automation, Manufacturing, and Assembly departments.
Ensure projects and customer orders are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Coordinate activities between engineering, estimating, project management, tooling, automation, and manufacturing teams.
Monitor production capacity, labor utilization, and resource planning.
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, cost reduction, and process standardization.
Support quoting, project reviews, and major customer programs.
Resolve operational issues that impact project timelines, quality, or customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with quality management systems, safety requirements, and company policies.
Review departmental performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Develop operational strategies that support company growth and profitability.
Participate in leadership meetings, strategic planning, and capital equipment planning.
Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.

Leadership Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, managers, and department leaders.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
Conduct performance reviews and support employee development plans.
Establish department goals aligned with company objectives.
Support workforce planning, hiring, training, and succession planning.

Skills & Qualifications

Strong knowledge of tool and die manufacturing, metal stamping, automation systems, machining, fabrication, and assembly operations.
Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
Strong project management and organizational abilities.
Ability to analyze operational data and drive process improvements.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Understanding of quality systems, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
Minimum 7–10 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
Experience in tool and die, automation equipment, custom machinery, or related manufacturing environments required.
Previous experience managing multiple departments and cross-functional teams preferred.

Additional Information

Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs and project schedules.
Primarily on-site leadership role.
Occasional travel may be required for customer meetings, supplier visits, and industry events.

Pay: $38.00 - $50.00 per hour
