Full Job Description

The Carrier Relations Representative (CRR) at M and P Logistics plays a critical role in supporting our growing brokerage team by serving as the primary carrier-facing point of contact for assigned brokers and their freight. CRRs build and maintain strong carrier relationships, secure capacity, negotiate rates, and keep loads moving smoothly from pickup to delivery.

Our sales structure is intentionally team-based:

Freight Brokers bring on and manage customer relationships
Carrier Representatives are carrierfacing
CSRs are customerfacing

Both CSRs and Carrier Reps support brokers so brokers can focus on growth, strategy, and revenue generation. As our brokerage continues to expand, we are adding experienced carrier-facing support to help scale operations without sacrificing service or execution.

This role is ideal for someone with prior logistics experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys negotiation and problem-solving, and takes pride in building strong partnerships.

What You’ll Do

Source, onboard, and manage carrier relationships to secure reliable capacity.
Book loads with carriers and negotiate rates based on market conditions and lane strategy.
Work closely with freight brokers to execute loads profitably and efficiently.
Track shipments, monitor milestones, and communicate with carriers to prevent and resolve issues.
Confirm pickup and delivery details, appointment times, and special requirements.
Manage exceptions such as delays, breakdowns, reworks, and service failures with urgency and professionalism.
Ensure accurate documentation including rate confirmations, carrier packets, and load notes.
Maintain clean, detailed records in the TMS and support compliance requirements as needed.
Build a dependable carrier network that supports longterm growth and consistent service.

Qualifications

Prior logistics or transportation experience required (brokerage, carrier sales, dispatch, operations, or similar).
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fastpaced environment.
Comfortable using logistics technology and quick to learn new systems.
Strong attention to detail and documentation habits.
Proficient with MS Office and CRM/TMS platforms.
