Job Summary:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports company-wide staffing and employee experience initiatives by executing recruitment activities, owning orientation and onboarding processes, leading employee and community engagement efforts, and coordinating and tracking managerial training programs designed by HR leadership. This role also supports select compliance and documentation processes that improve consistency, accuracy, and risk reduction. Acting as an ambassador for Conlon Construction’s culture and values, this position fosters strong relationships with candidates, employees, and community partners.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Execute full-cycle recruiting activities including posting roles, sourcing candidates, screening, scheduling interviews, and coordinating offers in accordance with established hiring processes.
- Track candidates through the recruitment process; maintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and/or HRIS.Develop and maintain job postings on internal and external platforms to ensure accuracy and alignment with employer branding.
- Coordinate background checks, drug screens, and MVRs as required for qualified candidates.
- Partner with hiring managers to support consistent, fair, and compliant interview practices; maintain interview tools and templates as provided by HR leadership.
- Build and maintain talent pools for recurring hiring needs; coordinate career fairs and hiring events.
Orientation, Onboarding & New-Hire Experience
- Own and standardize orientation and onboarding processes across locations and roles.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires during pre-boarding and onboarding; provide guidance and ensure a positive experience.
- Coordinate onboarding readiness with hiring managers, IT, and other departments to ensure tools, equipment, and access are ready on day one.
- Reinforce company expectations related to timekeeping, attendance, required documentation, and other foundational compliance topics during onboarding.
- Partner with the Operations Training Manager for role-specific training handoffs (construction operations training), ensuring no duplication of responsibilities.
Employee & Community Engagement
- Lead and coordinate employee engagement initiatives, recognition activities, and culture-building programs in partnership with HR leadership.
- Support employee surveys and engagement programs, including communication, logistics, and basic reporting of themes.
- Coordinate community outreach, career pathway partnerships, and volunteer initiatives that strengthen the employer brand.
- Serve as the internship program coordinator ("Intern Champion"); support communications, coordination of activities, and feedback collection.
Managerial Training Coordination & Tracking
- Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and communications for managerial training programs designed and owned by the Director of Human Resources.
- Track participation and completion, maintain accurate training records, and provide completion reporting to HR leadership.
- Support onboarding of new managers into required training programs and reinforce completion expectations.
Compliance & Documentation Support
- Conduct audits of employee documentation (e.g., I-9s and onboarding files) to support compliance with federal and company requirements.
- Verify accuracy of employee information entered into HR systems as assigned.
- Perform general HR administrative support and assist with HR projects that enhance efficiency and the employee experience.
- Escalate compliance-related or complex hiring concerns to the HR Generalist or Director of Human Resources. This role does not make final decisions related to compensation, classification, or employee relations outcomes.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in recruitment, HR, or talent acquisition; experience in the construction or skilled trades industry preferred.
- Experience coordinating or supporting employee engagement, internship, or community outreach programs a plus.
- A Valid Driver License is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing is required.
- Frequent communication, reaching, and manipulation of objects, tools, or controls; role requires mobility.
- Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Manual dexterity and coordination are required. This position utilizes equipment such as a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and similar devices.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and stressful environment.

Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour
