Full Job Description

Job Summary

OneSource Learning & Development Center is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly skilled Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA) / Behavioral Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide assessment, intervention, behavior management, and support services for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, communication deficits, and moderate to severe behavioral challenges.

This position requires a professional with extensive experience working with children who exhibit aggressive behaviors, elopement, self-injurious behaviors, emotional dysregulation, noncompliance, verbal and nonverbal communication deficits, and other complex behavioral needs. The ABA Specialist will develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans, train staff and caregivers, monitor progress, and collaborate with educational and clinical teams to ensure positive outcomes for children and families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments and functional behavior assessments (FBAs).
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) based on assessment findings and evidence-based ABA practices.
Provide direct behavioral intervention and therapeutic support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.
Work effectively with children who present moderate to extreme behavioral challenges, including aggression, self-injurious behaviors, property destruction, elopement, and severe emotional or behavioral dysregulation.
Support children with varying communication abilities, including verbal, minimally verbal, and nonverbal individuals.
Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to evaluate treatment effectiveness and make recommendations for program modifications.
Provide coaching, training, and support to staff, families, and caregivers regarding behavior management techniques and intervention strategies.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and other service providers to ensure consistency of interventions across environments.
Maintain accurate documentation, treatment notes, progress reports, and records in compliance with organizational policies, HIPAA requirements, and applicable regulations.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment planning and goal development.
Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts when necessary.
Ensure services are delivered in a culturally competent, ethical, and person-centered manner.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Human Services, Behavioral Science, Education, or a closely related field.
Master's Degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of direct experience working with children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, and moderate to severe behavioral challenges.
Demonstrated experience supporting verbal, minimally verbal, and nonverbal children.
Extensive knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, behavior intervention strategies, and positive behavior support practices.
Experience conducting behavioral assessments, developing behavior intervention plans, and monitoring treatment outcomes.
Ability to safely manage behavioral crises using approved de-escalation and intervention techniques.
Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with families, educators, clinicians, and community partners.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to successfully pass criminal background checks, reference checks, drug screening, motor vehicle record (MVR) checks (if applicable), and any other required employment screenings.
Must possess and maintain an active behavioral health credential, including Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), Special Education Certification, or a comparable behavioral health certification.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of direct, verifiable experience providing services to children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, communication disorders, and moderate to severe behavioral challenges.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing behavior intervention plans, conducting behavioral assessments, collecting and analyzing behavioral data, and training staff and caregivers on evidence-based intervention strategies.
Experience supporting verbal, minimally verbal, and nonverbal children in educational, clinical, community-based, or behavioral health settings is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in educational, community-based, behavioral health, or clinical settings.
Experience providing staff training, parent education, and behavior consultation services.
Knowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, special education regulations, and trauma-informed care practices.

Physical Requirements

Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move with children during program activities.
Ability to implement approved behavioral intervention and safety procedures when necessary.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with education, credentials, experience, and demonstrated expertise in serving children with complex behavioral and developmental needs.
