PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR – Dunkirk, NY
Job Summary
This position works closely with and provides administrative support to the Human Resources Manager by handling a variety of administrative responsibilities and supporting several specialized functions with the primary responsibility being to accurately process payroll. The person in this position should have very strong excel and data entry skills with experience utilizing both for time keeping purposes. This position requires an attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines.
Education and Experience

Three to five years of payroll processing experience

Experience in a Union environment preferred

Direct human resource department work experience in all employee lifecycle phases

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) along with proficient word processing, spreadsheets and other general computer skills required.

A bachelor’s or associate degree in related field preferred

Must possess knowledge and experience working with ADP Workforce Now

Familiarity with New York employment laws and regulations

Familiarity with paid and unpaid time off policies and processing
Essential Duties & Functions
-
Process weekly payroll for hourly employees and bi-weekly payroll for salary employees.

Update ADP Payroll files with pay rate changes, address, deduction changes, etc.

Maintain accurate attendance and employment logs for hourly employees and communicate with leadership as necessary.

Create, run, and distribute payroll reports to necessary recipients weekly.

Effectively communicate with management to ensure timely and accurate timecard approvals.

Assist with employee queries and concerns, fostering a positive work environment.

Ensure HR and Payroll policies and practices are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.

Adhere payroll processing for Union employees following the Union bargaining agreement.

Actively identify opportunities for improvement of key processes and improving employee experience and drive change management.

Regularly required to communicate, both orally and in writing; occasionally required to speak on the telephone for extended periods of time.

Frequently required to sit; occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, stand and walk.

Must have the ability to travel occasionally.

Must have the ability to occasionally lift and or move 10 lbs. or more.
