Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team! In this vital role, you will support the kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to delivering high-quality meals in a safe and efficient environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in food handling, culinary techniques, and kitchen management within a dynamic food service setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients according to recipes and adhering to food safety standards.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and other appliances.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning work surfaces, utensils, equipment, and floors regularly.
Follow strict food handling procedures to ensure safety standards are met during meal production.
Help with meal assembly and presentation to ensure timely service while maintaining quality.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks, manage workflow, and uphold hygiene practices in line with food safety management protocols.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques is highly desirable.
Experience working in food service environments such as restaurants or catering operations is advantageous.
Knowledge of safety standards in food production and proper food handling procedures is essential.
Strong knife skills and slicing techniques are a plus for efficient ingredient preparation.
Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene at all times.
