Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Prep / Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and supporting the kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient food service. Your enthusiasm for food preparation and commitment to food safety will help create a welcoming environment where delicious meals are crafted with precision and care. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts, food handling, and delivering exceptional dining experiences.

The base wage for this position is $18.16/hr plus a tip out from FOH staff. We target $24/hr with tip out.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring to ensure timely meal assembly
Work the line as needed by cooking, plating, and garnishing dishes according to established recipes and standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils
Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
Help with menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for upcoming meals or special catering events
Handle food with care, ensuring proper handling techniques are used at all times to maintain quality and safety
Support meal preparation for various service types, including catering events or regular dining services

Skills

Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety practices
Experience in restaurant or food service environments with a focus on kitchen operations
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in basic culinary techniques
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Familiarity with menu planning, meal prep, and food industry standards
Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
