We are committed to serving high-quality food while fostering a positive, team-oriented workplace where talented individuals can grow their careers.

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, and enjoys mentoring others while maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Job Summary

The Sous Chef plays a key leadership role in the daily operation of our kitchen by supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of food preparation, kitchen organization, staff development, and service execution. This position requires strong culinary skills, leadership ability, and a commitment to maintaining an efficient, professional, and collaborative kitchen environment.

Compensation begins at $20.00 per hour during a two-week training period, plus participation in our generous tip pool. Following training, compensation will be re-evaluated based on experience, performance, and demonstrated leadership.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations
Lead and support line cooks during service
Prepare and cook menu items while maintaining consistency and quality standards
Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health department standards
Assist with inventory management, ordering, and product rotation
Help manage prep schedules and kitchen workflow
Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion consistency
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
Support a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
Perform additional duties as assigned by management

General Expectations

All Sous Chefs are expected to:

Lead by example with professionalism and integrity
Communicate effectively with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams
Remain calm, organized, and solution-oriented during busy service periods
Demonstrate strong time management and attention to detail
Foster teamwork and accountability within the kitchen
Take pride in producing exceptional food and guest experiences

Qualifications

Previous professional kitchen experience required
Supervisory or kitchen leadership experience preferred
Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a high-volume kitchen
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
